Oliver's story

Simple really - he just refused to leave home!  Oliver and his litter-mates were still only 6 weeks old when we moved from Strathbungo, and they greatly enjoyed 'overseeing' my decorating efforts, with Oliver developing a taste for climbing step-ladders and sitting at the top looking hugely pleased with himself.  He really is the most endearing cat, who has developed quite a large fan-club for his sweet and spineless ways.  He adores being cradled upside-down in your arms, and goes so limp and relaxed that we awarded him the title of 'World's first invertebrate cat'.  He is also a wonderful hot-water bottle, always sleeping across your feet in cold weather.

He loves sunbathing on the window sill (as you can see from the photograph above) and when particularly relaxed has been know to roll himself right off the edge, silly old sausage.  He is wonderful with kittens, probably because he still thinks he is a kitten himself.

Oliver had a successful show career as a kitten, but I really only started showing him again quite recently as company for his baby sister Sophie.  She really  likes travelling to shows with him, and they spend journeys curled up together, paws round each others necks.  As a bonus he decided it was time to start winning again, being made up to Premier at the age of 5½, and Grand Premier at 6½.  He now acts as travelling companion for his niece Tasha as well, and has a similarly soothing effect on her.  Everyone needs an Oliver.  Y
